PERANCANGAN INTERIOR RUMAH-RETRET UNTUK UMAT KATOLIK DI UBUD, BALI

Abstract

Retreat activity is an activity given by the church as a place for their congregation to fulfil physical needs and spiritual. In general, all retreat activity is carried out for 1-3 days but there is a special retreat for ecclesiastic occurred while 1 month. The age constraint to do retreat is more than 9 years old. The design of the retreat house should be thought as well to show a design with a new ambience and trendier because Indonesia's old retreat house has a design which unguided so it seems well taken care of and old. Besides of design aspect, not all retreat house has full packages such as the station of the cross area, the cave of the virgin Mary, and the confessional. Based on that things, so the design of this retreat house will give the facility to max out retreat activities for the participants. Method of data collection that conducted as the basic of designing retreat house is observation method to the location of retreat house designing in Bali, documentation method, interview to the 5 informants, and data collection method with applying the question that is the questionnaire to 60 respondents. Based on the data, it requires a design of a retreat house to give an alternative that is a new place with great enough capacity because of the increased catholic congregation number on Bali island. The use of the Saint Peter theme and Spiritual Garden concept wished to could give new looks to the retreat house by defending religious elements that combine with natural elements.
