EKSPLORASI KAIN BENTENAN DENGAN SENTUHAN MODERN PADA JEJAK WARISAN KULTURAL SULAWESI UTARA
Keywords:
bentenan cloth, north sulawesi, preservationAbstract
This final project explores the role and contribution of North Sulawesi's typical cloth, bentenan cloth, which is now increasingly rare and threatened with extinction. Various factors, such as the spread of Christianity by Dutch missionaries and the public's perception of woven cloth as something ancient and less modern, also played a role in the slow rate of preservation of Bentenan cloth. This research will examine the history and significance of bentenan cloth in the cultural context of North Sulawesi and analyze the efforts that can be made to revive the existence of this cloth. By digging into the roots of the problem and offering innovative solutions, it is hoped that this research will provide in-depth insight into how society can contribute to preserving this valuable heritage.
